Underhung cranes are often used for factories with insufficient building height. They are suspended from the ceiling/roof structure of a building or the I Beam which is secured to the structure, maximizing use of vertical space and lift height.  Underhung cranes are typically adopted for material handling with capacity to a few tons and are more suitable for light to medium-duty applications.
